New technical requirements for remotely piloted aircraft There are new technical requirements for RPA, commonly known as drones. The new rules are contained in the Part 101 (Unmanned Aircraft and Rockets) Manual of Standards (MOS) 2019. Primarily they affect commercial and professional RPA pilots and operators - however, most of these rules will not come into effect for another 12 months. This is to ensure industry is ready, particularly RPA training organisations. Right now, you don’t have to take any action. CASA is currently developing guidance material to help with the transition, including advisory circulars and templates. However, you should be aware of two new rules in effect immediately:

It looks like that notification requirement will stay.Can someone explain how the above relates to sub 2 KG excluded please.
From what I've read we just need to keep updating our details every 3 years?

The differance will be you will have to sit the 30 minute 'exam', and pay the $1-160 fee per RPA, per year.
Yeah Bud, I think the Recreational exam will be rolled out first, then the Sub2kg Excluded later in the year.Thanks Mate
It says free on their website looked on their site but can't find the exam yet.
