Ribbon Cable adhesive removal

First post! I've searched but could not find if there was an easy way to remove the adhesive on the connectors for the ribbon cable. Looks like hot glue, but it's stuck on pretty good. I did not want to break it.

I just pick away at it with sharp tweezers
