A major Australian retailer received notice from DJI that production is being halted indefinitely. Speculation is that it is due to various reports of Mavics becoming unresponsive in flight.

Since when has JB stocked DJI gear anyway? I wouldn't believe them

Honestly, if its for QC or hardware fixes, then take their time. I would rather wait for a perfectly working product than receive a defective, blurred focused, connect-loosing mavic.

......But if its just more lies about how far behind in production and how much they jumped the gun on the release, then that is something totally different....

At our local jb they have a phantom 3 on display and spare batteries and props

Interesting because more specialised drone/hobby dealers in Australia are showing the following:-
Modelflight has Mavic combo ETA on 15/11
and other ETA on 30/11
Camzilla has Mavic ETA on 15/11
Rise above Aerials shows mid Nov
Guess we will see what happens over the next few days

Can @msinger shed any light on this?
I don't know this seller, so I'm not able to speak for their promised stock. I have been seeing people mention their Mavics are shipping pretty much on a daily basis around the Internet. So, stock is going out somewhere.

According to DJI Mavics are being shipped non-stop so they closed the thread as it was a rumor. So keep looking for those planes and Fed-Ex trucks!

This is DJI's official response to the thread:

"Closing thread as the thread title is 100% false as Mavics are being shipped non-stop."

Sounds more like they just don't know when they'll be getting them in so they don't want to promise their customer a date, and then people are blowing it out of proportion. Not surprising on the internet I guess.

Plenty of reports of them shipping last night direct from DJI, so I don't believe this for a second.

it is possible to close a production line whilst at the same time hand check and still ship small numbers from stuff that has already come off (or is in the last stages) the production line..

to be honest that is what i think is actually happening..

Stranger things have happened

Maybe one day a little Chinese man will sneak out of the factory and tell us what really happened during this debacle

I just got tracking info from Amazon on my combo (Koozam), but I'm not sure if it's the real deal or the pseudo-shipment place holder. Guess I'll know Thursday.

"stock delayed indefinitely" says to me that they are unable to give a specific time frame on the produciton, not that production has been halted.

'Stock Delayed' is not the same as 'No stock available', come on, stock being delayed is a fact from day one, doesn't mean they are not shipping, only means they are not shipping as fast as they should, or could be. They shipped a bunch out yesterday of the basic orders.

It's interesting that two separate retailers are telling their customers the same thing at the same time. I don't think they both just made it up. We'll see...

yip....**** did i get it from members on here today...lol lol we now i know how to get emails loaded up to forums...lol.

They're still shipping though, seems odd they would keep shipping if they knew there was a major issue

i think they are hand checking and sending out small numbers they think are okay.. maybe after a hand fix.. shipping but not quite the same as a production line running.. this would explain the low numbers currently being shipped out..
