The Note 20 is fully compatible with DJI Fly. I'm glad I needed a new phone anyhow, or having to get one would have been annoying!

The problem I'm having is that the glare outside in the sun makes the screen on the S20 essentially unreadable. If I wear a cap and sit in the shade, it barely sort of works, but it's not right.

Has anyone found a solution to the glare problem? I'm thinking some kind of shield that clips on to the controller or the phone, essentially putting the screen at the end of a tunnel, might work.

Any solutions for addressing the glare issue would be greatly appreciated!

Thx,

TCS

Welcome to the forum from the land of Oz. Glare is a problem here in the NT. When I was using the A30 always used a shade. You can either make your own or purchase a manufactured one, plenty of them around. Enjoy the forum.

If it's got anything to do with light glare off a super smooth screen surface, you could try a matt screen saver film.
If it's purely due to lack of nits available, the only thing you can try is stand in the shade, wear a big sombrero / wide brim hat to shade the screen, or try a dedicated sun hood for the device.

This is a little phone size though, isn't it ?
A larger device is fantastic, for both brightness and better vision to film / frame when flying.
Something dedicated for the drone flying like an iPad mini 4, or better 5.
Apple stuff seems more compatible with a lot of DJI gear, and also other apps at times.

Unless you pay $$ for a specialised high brightness monitor, everyone has problems looking at screens outdoors in sunlight.
Look for a shaded location to fly from, near a handy tree, wall etc.
A wide-brimmed hat can also be useful.
It's going to be much better than those klunky viewing hoods.

I try to find some shade to stand under if I'm using my phone. Heading out when the sun is lower in the sky helps too, plus you can get better looking shots and footage.

My smart controller is visible in full sun but of course is better in shade. Fingerprints on the screen really hindered visibility so I started using a stylus. That helped quite a bit. When glare is an issue, fingerprints make it far worse.
