Smart Controller SLOW SLOW charging.

I picked up a used Zoom today with the smart controller for a great deal. Drone looks perfect I try and power up the smart controller and nothing it's dead. l plugged it in to a regular 3amp 5v usb charging hub I have on my desk not knowing it needed a 12v 2 amp adapter for fast charge mode. An hour later I still can't even power it on so I so some searching and end up doing the power button back button reset and it boots up with 5% power. I was like how....... it was charging for an hour! 3 hours later the second LED is now lighting up and I'm at 37% is this normal??? I guess they really mean SLLLLOOOOOOOW charging with a non 12v USB.

Yes normal and expected Without the correct charger type.

If you are unable to land the DJI charger originally supplied with the Smart Controller, I recommend the following as it work for me and likely available locally:

Note, it’s not always available... However, I setup a notice when available within eBay‘s tools and it worked for me within a Month or so.

I just got a new Mavic air with smart controller combo.
It tok over 12 hours to fully charge the controller.
Should I be worried?
