So I've been going over the internet looking at the CrystalSky monitor, and I'm going to go ahead and speculate some prices based on what I've seen so far.

Please don't ask for sources, and please bear in mind I'm only speculating and that I could be very wrong.

So here it is:
  • The 5.5" monitor with a resolution of 1920x1080 and brightness of 1000 cd/m² will probably be priced at around $300.
  • The 7.85" monitor with a resolution of 2048x1536 and a brightness of 1000 cd/m² will probably be priced at around $500.
  • The 7.85" monitor with a resolution of 2048x1536 and a brightness of 2000 cd/m² will probably be priced at around $600.
So here they are. If these prices turn out to be reasonably true, which one would get if you wanted one?

I expect Crystal Sky to be released at NAB in Vegas, April 22. At CES they told me it would be a few months, that was Jan 6th. The proto at CES looked a little crude, and heavy, but it was bright. It wasn't the 2000nit version, it was 1000nit. It was over twice what an iPad Mini weighs. I just wonder about it's ability to run Litchi, or any other app I might want like Drone Deploy, etc.

Here are my photos from CES. Notice how massive the display holder is, necessary to hold such a heavy display. I think the price will be more like $750, but I hope I'm wrong.

More like:

$450-$500
$550-$750
$800-$1000

Displays are expensive and the ones that bright even more so.

I simply speculated based on pricing of existing DJI tech, and based on the fact that this is only useful to someone that already spent a fortune on DJI Tech. We shall see what they really cost.

I'd love to have something slightly smaller than a iPad Mini for the the Mavic that would have maybe a snap in at the bottom (in leau of the arms that squeeze it in place). And would like it to be super bright and light weight. And less than the price of the Mavic. ha

No idea. I'm curious too. I hope the developers come up with something. Mavic is now one of the most purchased drones.
When there's a will there's a way. However the DJI folks statement at CES was that Crystal Sky monitors will not be compatible with Mavic or the P4P+.

You are going to crap your pants when you see the prices. The lowest price (5.5") will be in the $849 range based on the tech. It just goes "deep pockets" uphill from there. Remember the CrystalSky is the cadilac of controllers, able to work in all climates, backwards and forwards compatible with all major DJI drones, etc.

They will prolly have a whole new controller with it attached that you will have to purchase...

I dont think they made CrystalSky for Mavic users. it's going to cost about or more than a Mavic.... It's more for Inspire and other pro cinema cams.

Actually, this is incorrect. Their web site emphatically states that the Crystal Sky is compatible with the Mavic, Phantom Toys and the Inspire.

No, it's the "Lincoln" of all monitors.
Keep in mind that the Phantom 4 Pro Toy has the kit listed for $400.00 more with the Crystal Sky monitor so I would assume $500.00 as a stand alone price for the smaller unit.

It will be interesting to see when they do release these as to what price range they end up with. I'm leaning toward the track the wolf is on.

No thank you, I can appreciate the brightness but for a single use product vs a multi use tablet like an ipad4.....no way. I do other things on a pad than just fly.

Well, the OS for the CS is Android, they did state they had removed 'unnecessary' software but I would guess you will be able to side load some if not all apps.

Having owned a P4P+ I can honestly say the included display was not impressive. Yes I know its not the CrystalSky, but many P4P+ owners are now purchasing additional remotes in order to use tablets.
