I could not find this question in the look up section but does anybody know what stick error means. My drone is drifting all over and does not return the home anywhere close to where it supposed to. The controller just says stick error

it means that the controller needs the control sticks to be recentered by recalebrating them it can also be caused by having a magnetic micro usb adapter plugged into the side charge port, follow the directions in the manual

Thank you so much for that and the quick reply I will pursue it. But they're also account for the return to home being about 80 feet off

I‘ve been using one of those plugs and not had any issue at all but I do recalibrate everything whenever we have a firmware update if it needs it or not. Habit.
Hadn’t thought about it but with the Phantoms whenever
i added or moved anything..tracker or whatever I did do a
compass calibration.
Like OMM said controller recal should fix you up.

The calibration also includes the gimbal pitch wheel on an MPP. During it's calibration, you need to move the wheel left or right. Don't move it real slow. Move it quickly and to it's full rotation. When I moved it slowly, it messed up the proportionality of the wheel and I could not control the speed of the change in pitch.

All the stability issues are fixed, I will have to wait till I go to the park tomorrow to try the rth

i am assuming that you have your firmware up up date on the mavic as the early versions had issues with RTH being off the mark do you use a take off and landing mat it helps with an accurate RTH

Yeah everything has worked perfect until this morning. Maybe I did get a few stick errors lately but I didn't think much of it. it still functioned until today

lets hope that the fault was causing the RTH problem as well ,let us know how it goes thanks

You bet, thank you all again. the stick cal only took about 5 min.

I went to the park today do you try the return to home and it’s back to the bad results on everything again, when you let go of the sticks it just keeps going forward and the return to home is still way off I tried to do another stick calibration and it did not seem successful the right stick kept ending up with a 13 to 19% when I got done with that. ?

Try and do it again. Do it till it 0’s out.
Now the RTH issue I’m not sure but I would try
doing a compass calibration also if you haven’t.
Dont know if that would do any good but is what
i would try. Ya never know and have seen stranger
things fix issues.

If above doesn’t work consider returning the controller to DJI if you can

I tried all that stuff at the park. I could not get the right stick to zero out no matter how many times

have you got access to another controller that you could borrow to link to your drone and see if the problem persists

Let me ask you this did this issue come on gradually
or did it fly fine then just start.
Sorry OMM ya posted as I was.
