Given the capabilities of the Mavic 2 Pro, I am trying to decide if it would be worth adding to my photography kit. My idea is/was having a drone to get a perspective from a spot that would not normally be accessible by foot, such as a waterfall that I want to shoot from the other side of the river because there is better foreground to include.

As I start to read about restricted areas, I'm wondering if it would really be worth it as it seems like the places I would most like to fly, UAV's are banned. Am I right?

Photography with a drone is possible using 3-5 shot AEB to create HDR images work fine.
Location is another thing.

Yeah, I am very familiar with bracketing and combining images and I am intrigued at their ability to hover accurately enough to do long exposures. The location thing is what I'm struggling with.

No issues with location at all. 95% of what i take are stills and ive not yet come across somewhere i couldnt fly to get the shot i needed anywhere in the world.

I consider my drone as a really big camera tripod i can move wherever i need.

And those are my exact thoughts. The ability to set up a "tripod" wherever I want, but then I start looking at the websites for the National Park service and the state parks websites for Wisconsin and Minnesota and I see that basically I can't fly a drone anywhere legally.
