Stuck and need help M2P

Hi All,

I new to your forum and have an issue with my new Mavic 2 Pro. I've had it for two weeks and I'm having trouble with poor photo image quality and the GPS Metadata not showing on any of my pictures. I've been working with DJI support for a week and we are getting nowhere fast. I'm at the point of returning it.

I've watched you tube videos about camera settings, device setup, smart controller dos and don'ts, endless beginner guides. There are some great videos out there from really creative people but unfortunately not one has helped me. I'm hoping this is just a user issue that someone on here can solve. Returning my Mavic is the last stop.

Things I've done:
Updated smart controller firmware
Changed photo/video settings (currently at jpeg, auto white balance, ISO 200/ 4K 30fps,
Reset GPS, made sure 10 or more satellites are listed before take off
Running DJI GO4 v4.3.16 (latest version)

Sorry, here is an example of my issue. This is a picture I took with what appeared to be the correct settings. JPeg, GPS showed 10 satellites. changes white balance to sunny and started taking pictures

I'm not sure what you actually did but there is no way to "reset GPS".
GPS will have no impact on your image quality anyway.
The firmware version is also unlikely to have any effect on image quality.

What is the problem you have with that image?
btw .. An original image straight from your camera would be more helpful rather than a resized version that may or may not have had other modifications done.

When I try to submit the image to Dronebase it keeps getting rejected for low resolution and missing GPS Meta data. The image is directly from my SD card. Not sure how to fix this.

That image is 1632 x 1088
Straight from the camera, it should be 5472×3648
Did you get the image from the SD card which is where you would find the original images?
Or are you looking at a reduced size thumbnail image?
Originals would have file names like DJI_0568.JPG

The missing metadata is probably the same problem.
The original images will have the metadata but the thumbnails won't
You need to pop the SD card from the Mavic, put it in an adapter and put that in your computer to copy the full-sized original images to your computer

I'm the image came directly from my SD card and is not a reduced image. Please note, this is from the SD card in my Smart Controller and not the drone itself. I wonder if it makes a difference. Here is an image directly from the SD card in the drone.

I see these images have the descriptions you were referring to. Hope image quality is at 5472×3648 and GPS Metadata is now present.

Please know I really appreciate your help. 10x more support than DJI can provide.

Perfect, this confirms what I was suspecting. The images from SD card in the drone are the ones I should be using. Images on the SD card in the smart controller are just thumbnails for review.

That was a full-sized original image. It includes the metadata as shown here:

Use RAW not jpg. Images will have even more detail to manipulate in post software like photoshop

Assuming the OP knows how to correctly adjust a RAW file.

Yes to shooting RAW. And when possible, practice manual mode if you’re not doing this already.
