Thunderdrones Online Repair Request

What we do at Thunderdrones:

If you need service to your DJI Mavic, we can help. We have bought, sold and repaired over 2,000 DJI Products. These include Phantom 3 and 4 , Mavics, Mavic Airs, Sparks, and now Mavic 2's. We have almost every available spare OEM DJI replacement part.

How much does Thunderdrones charge?

There is no money due up front. We will send you a Paypal invoice after you decide whether to fix it or not. We charge $49 to give you an estimate of the damage. If you decide to repair it, the $49 estimate fee is applied to the repair.

How long will it take to get an estimate?

It will take 3-4 business days after we have received your Mavic to generate the estimate. We will email you when the estimate is complete. The estimate is just that, we will address what the error messages are and what physical damage is apparent. If we find any additional things that need to be repaired after the estimate and test flight, we will let you know before we finish the repair and wont proceed until we get your approval.

Whats the turnaround time on a repair?

Turnaround time for the repair is usually 2-3 business days after you have accepted the estimate.

What type of payments does Thunderdrones accept?

We accept Paypal and credit cards as payment. Our Paypal address is Thunderdrones@aol.com.

What items should I send to Thunderdrones for the repair?

When shipping your drone to us, please include the following:
  1. Drone in it's original box, if possible.
  2. Battery
  3. Controller
  4. SD card
  5. Gimbal lock
  6. Gimbal protective bubble
  7. OEM DJI props (we need them to test fly your drone when it's done)
You dont need to send any cables or charger.

Where should I send my drone?

Please send your Mavic to us at:

Thunderdrones
3780 Old Norcross Road
Suite 103-332
Duluth, Georgia 30096

What diagnostic procedures does Thunderdrones follow during the repair?

When we receive your drone, we take a written inventory of what is in the box. We then put a name tag on all your items, and put your box on the triage shelf in date order that your drone was received. Nefore we begin work on your drone, we give it complete exterior inspection, and make notes of everything we notice that is out of the ordinary. Some examples of exterior damage would be detached gimbals, broken arms, or a cracked frame.

Does Thunderdrones test fly my drone after it's done?

We try to test fly every drone before we ship it back for at least 2-3 minutes. We dont test fly a repair if you just send us a controller for repair since we dont have your drone to test. Other things we verify before the repair is complete are:
  • Motors spin freely
  • Compass 1 and 2 calibrate
  • Has video feed
  • IMU 1 and 2 calibrated
  • Gimbal Calibrated
  • GPS locks in
  • Fan works

What happens after my repair is complete?

After your repair is complete, we will contact you by email and let you know it’s done. We will send you an invoice and you can pay by Paypal or credit card. If you pay by Paypal, please make sure that your Paypal name and address information are up to date. I can only send it to your Paypal address on file.

How does Thunderdrones ship it back to me?

We use USPS Priority Mail as return shipping and we will include the cost of return shipping along with the repair cost after it’s done. You have the option on the online repair request to add insurance to your return shipping. Sorry but we are not able to ship using Fedex or UPS.

Please send your Mavic to me at:

Rob Schwartz
Thunderdrones
3780 Old Norcross Road
Suite 103-332
Duluth, Georgia 30096

If you have any questions about the status of your repair, please message me here or send an email to Thunderdrones@aol.com.

Do you carry the antennas for the Mavic Pro radio? I just dropped my radio and one of the antennas popped off and the wire inside snapped.

I don't need repair but I need parts. I need the parts that hold both front arms. It is the screws, the pin (that locks the arm open/closed), the metal thing that is held down by the crews and the washer. I am building a Mavic Frame from from parts and I am missing those plus screws. I am just to put regular racing drone parts inside and make it look like a Mavic.

I will see if I have any of those.

Do you have the inserts that go into the controller arms? Mine were modified to fit my phone with case. I want to get a Mav Mount so need to replace them.

Hi! I'm looking for a few parts.
First is some replacement hex-head screws. I have one that the head is stripped out. I can probably get it out using a moto-tool to cut a slot for a screwdriver next time I have to open it, but want to get some screws ahead of time to replace bad screws. (If there's different lengths, I'm looking for the type inside the battery area, top rear, ect.) I saw on another thread that you sell them for $3.25 per pair. I'd like to get 3 packs (6 screws total.)
The other part I need is the rubber feet pad for the front legs if you carry them. I'm missing the starboard side one, though I imagine they're sold as a pair. Picture included for clarity of the part in question.
Thanks!

Thanks Rob. Agreed. Do I need to send the drone? The problem is just the controller that I broke - would prefer to only send the controller if I can.

Hi Rob,

Looking around seems you might be able to provide some direction on my need to source a replacement part for the RHS front leg on my Mavic.
the rear props ritualistically severed it right near the top of its footing.

In in Australia BTW, local outfits want to take it in for repair. As it's happy to fly as is hoping to source the part instead of sending my bird away in post.

ty in advance for your time

I just packaged my MP up and sent to you via UPS shipping out from Peachtree City, GA on Monday, you should get by today (Tues) or Wed latest.
Was getting gimbal overload errors after fall from tree and found the frame which the gimbal is mounted to the rubber band setup to be broken where the gimbal frame screws on. I replaced the frame with a new one and still had same error so the problem must be in the ribbon cable itself or on the board. I assume you can check all that stuff and determine repairs needed. Please let me know if you need any more information or items.
I included all my info on your repair order and put copy of same in box with MP. I am generally always available at any numbers listed. Thanks in advance, your reputation precedes you well.
Thanks,
Jon Hobby
