Looking for any drone pilots in my area to fly with. Winged or quads. I’d love to get a bunch of us together to start a local club.

Billy,
I'm up in Brevard. I am moving toward buying
a higher level drone over my 2 Sparks. I am
mostly interested in still images for my quads,
but I am working towards getting into search
and rescue, if I can.

I would like to investigate fixed wing drones
for longer flight times.

Can you give me your thoughts on any that
you think I should look into, since you mentioned
fixed wing in your post.

I have been flying fixed wing RC for 25 years.

And I can PM my phone number if it's
easier to discuss live.

Thanks!

John

When you say search and rescue to what extent are you meaning? I would be happy to give you my opinion over the spark. Tho I have to say I’ve seen some successfully use the spark to search for their lost MP’s in the snow before.

I have 2 Sparks, but I am going to buy at least a Mavic 2 Pro or maybe an Enterprise,
but I am not really intending to use the Sparks, except for training, etc.

And by Search & Rescue, I mean using the drones to assist the authorities in
finding lost people, but only through proper channels.

My actual question to you was about the fixed wing drones you mentioned
in your original post above. It made me think that some of the people you
fly with were flying fixed wind drones, as opposed to RC aircraft.

If I am mistaken, my apologies.

From what I hear and have read about it the Enterprise has optional equipment that can be applied to the drone that may assist in what you're wanting but for the money definitely research the heck out of them. You may even want to look into a completely different model. Unless storing and transport were an issue. What was the question with the fixed wing?

You mentioned in your post at the top that you fly
with fixed wing drone flyers. I was wanting to know
if you had any input for me on fixed wing drones,
that would be conducive to longer air time than
the quads for S&R.

I live in the upstate part of sc. I fly a Mavic Mini often. I too am looking for a group or somewhere to fly safely.
