DJI agrees:
For this one Teddy, you can definitely operate your aircraft even though the Mobile Device you're using with the unit is in low power mode. Please note that the aircraft and Remote Controller have their own batteries to draw power in for their operation and the Mobile Device is only used to view the image transmission that is coming from the aircraft as well as the other status and functionalities of the unit. With that being said, even though your Mobile Device is in low power mode, your aircraft can still function and it won't affect its operation. Great now I can fly three full batteries--60 minutes.
I phone's will dim automatically if the ambient temps are high and they are under a load (DJI 4) That along with sun glare makes the screen very hard to view. Stay in the shade.
