Weird battery

New Mini 2 battery does not turn on drone unless attached to charging source just prior to use. Makes no difference if the battery is stored in the drone or outside. Once the drone is then turned on everything is normal. Updated to latest firmware with the new battery in the drone but that did not fix the problem. The work-around is straightforward however impractical when "on location." Suggestions?

Not working properly. Take it back for exchange if you can.

Contact the retailer or DJI.
If the problem persists, return battery while under warranty.

Does it only happen with the one battery or with others as well? One possible "fix" might be to do your current workaround and then run the battery completely dry flying around until low and then hover and cancel the autolanding as long as possible. I would never suggest that ordinarily but it might reset the memory in the smart battery. As its a liPo this may not do any good but trying it once won't hurt either.

Updating the firmware with the battery installed is the normal solution. As others I believe it needs to be returned if possible.
