So I work at a casino and once a year they have a sale where the employees can buy lost iphones and umbrellas and anything else you can imagine that people leave behind. Yes, the casino does make an effort to find the owners but sometimes they dont have the info or they dont reply back. Anyway.

I bought these 2 phones. Both iphone 5's I believe. Also both wanting a passcode which of course I dont know. So, other than using these as target practice for my 12 gauge, I dont know what I can do with them. Any ideas?

Factory-reset them? That should get rid of the Passcode...

How do you do that?

It depends.

There are two security features that are in your way - passcode and iCloud/AppleID.

Passcodes can be removed by plugging the phone into a PC/Mac and holding the Home + Power buttons. The phone will restart, and show an image of a cable and the iTunes logo (basically, "plug me into iTunes). Since it's already plugged in, iTunes will tell you your phone is in Recovery mode and needs to be restored/updated. Click restore/update, and select complete restore if it asks.

iCloud/AppleID cannot be removed by you (only by the previous owner, by logging in and removing the link to their account), even with the above method.

Without the passcode, you cannot tell if it has an iCloud/AppleID active on it, so you may as well just try restoring it.

Drop one from 400ft. :)

And post footage here of course
