Hello all. I'm interested in knowing what type of communication do you guys use to communicate with your crew or spotter out on the field.

I don’t. A spotter must be within voice range to be legal. I maintain VLOS.

Any effective means of communication can be used, not necessarily within earshot. I would recommend a form that is hands free for the person manipulating the controls.

Don't forget that it depends on the flight status.

Under recreational rules the VO must be co-located - so although that doesn't preclude some form of communication other than direct voice, it does imply within earshot.

Under Part 107 there is no co-location requirement - just that both the pilot and VO must both be able to see the aircraft at all times during the flight. Any suitable form of voice communication may be used.

hanks for sharing!

I also maintain VLOS, spotter is next to me to be legal.
