OP: if it bogs down, try combining small sections or rows first then combine those resulting images. I used to do megapixel processing with ICE and doing this really helped. It’s not perfect, but it’s great in the ability to combine large numbers of images.
Microsoft ICE could handle it for a 2D project if it is still available. I have it installed but lost the original download zip file. You might find a archival copy online.

The science of how drones can affect wildlife is proven and factual, and they do diminish natural and wilderness quality for most people, that’s why open-space nature parks are prohibiting them.
Just a little dated, but this thread is a very good guide for new and a refresher for both US pilots and others... Bumping it as a useful thread found deep in the MP archives. It could use a bit of editing and link updates, but there’s some good info here.

The only time I shoot vertical is for still photographs or for overlapping panorama sequences when I’d like to show both ground and sky. Sometimes it would be nice to do the same with a drone, but mine can’t do it. I never shoot videos in vertical format though, nor would I do it with a drone...
