Yes you would. New regs coming in later this year will require unmodified Mavic Mini's to be registered anyway because of the camera.

Yes I took out the cover. For £35 (Mavic Mini) and then £39 for a first replacement it's a no brainer for me. If I crashed I wouldn't be abel to stump up £369 just like that but £74 is bearable.

Yes they wear off gradually, I've only had mine a few weeks and I'm already getting more confident about how high and far I fly.

I'm also new and started with the Mini. If and when I decide to upgrade I reckon I'll be able to sell my Mini for 80-85% of what it cost me originally and I didnt have the worry of smashing up a £900 drone as a beginner. Saying that you can take out the DJI Care Refresh for peace of mind.
