I'm using this setup with my BT-300's connected via hdmi to the Crystalsky running Litchi flying the Mavic Mini, so it should work with DJI Fly on the SC as it just displaying the hdmi feed on the BT-300's.
I like this solution as you don't have to control the app from within the BT-300's...
As with many tablets the newer Ipads still struggle with sunlight screen visibility, so you'll need a hood of some description.

Your getting this message because your PC is not recognizing that you have connected the MA2, there is a problem with the usb drivers on your PC.
The other thing is when connecting have you powered on the drone ?
If your based in Europe the BT-40 has been released, the 40-S has been released in Japan so it will be very soon.
You've got a bit of a decision to make, but wait until the solutions have been tested.
I suspect number 2 will be cheaper.
1) MA2, SC and BT-40
or
2) MA2 and BT-40s
