yeah I noticed that too. what I take that to mean is when enough "incidents" occur in a specific area FSDOs and probably local law enforcement will get tasked by the FAA to look into the registered/licensed drone pilots in that area, maybe find an excuse to start looking at peoples flight logs...
I would VERY surprised if DJI killed off the phantom line entirely. it's a product line that has and continues to sell well and fits neatly into the DJI product line between the inspire series and the mavic series.
a military drone and a recreation drone a very different animals. a fixed wing military drone at those altitudes isn't unreasonable at all. what you're describing sounds like an MQ-9 reaper.
considering that most drones are very small compared to manned aircraft and made mostly of plastic or composites any radar would have a very hard time, or be incapable all together of picking them up.

started with a P3 pro in 2016, picked up a mavic pro about a month ago and I think I'm going to pick up a tello just as an indoor/int he yard toy just to mess around with and as a cheap way to get more ballsy with my flying.
