    Calculating Sun Angles/Locations

I've been using The Photographer's Ephemeris for years. I have the app on my iPhone, and they have a website. https://photoephemeris.com/

North Carolina bans aerial mapping without a surveying license

I've talked with Michael about this. We as an industry need to get behind him. They are appealing this again, so hopefully this will still be overturned. I'm not sure why they chose the first amendment argument, but hopefully I'll know more soon.

Got a visit while flying near Denver Broncos stadium today at 5:40am

Numerous SCOTUS rulings have ruled that anything visible from a public thoroughfare (the NAS is a public thoroughfare) has no "reasonable expectation of privacy". Therefore, you can sell imagery taken with a drone w/o permission. There will be some usage restrictions (commercial vs. editorial...

You can 100% legally fly over the empty stadium. The security guard can't stop you. He can ask you not to. But that's it. As you said, you weren't on their property, so they had no say so. And you can even do this during a preseason game.

New FAA OOP Waiver approval policy.

It took my a couple of weeks thanks to my schedule, but I was able to put out an article about the FAA's new approval policy for OOP and OOMV waivers. This is a nice step forward. Mavics and Minis are eligible for the OOP waiver. Hence putting it in this group. Since 5/15, the FAA has approved...

    Poor photo quality

Did you take the images off of the SD card in the drone, or off of the controller? Because these look like the thumbnails from the controller. Or are they from the pics on your phone? The Air 2 is a great little drone for what you are trying to do. But the files need to come from the sd card...

I don't think a full ban which would ground us recreation fliers will get through personally.... but a 30% Tariff is something else entirely..

Well, I have a meeting with Stefanik's staffer that is behind DFR and CCCPDA later today. Once that's over, I'll share some of my thoughts.

    Airspace and LAANC

I'm not sure who you're answering, but it's not a waiver for 107. If you're dealing with airspace, you ask for an Airspace Authorization. And that's only for 107 folks. Recreational flyers can't get waivers.

    Airspace and LAANC

As long as you're in a 200' gird, you can. If you're not in a 200' grid, you can't fly higher than that no mater the time of day.

    Airspace and LAANC

Recreational flyers can get approval to fly in Controlled Airspace at night. That link if to a page from 2021. It has changed.

    Airspace and LAANC

Odds are it reverts to E2. That means surface. So yes, you still need LAANC approval. You wouldn't if it reverted to Class G.

    Mini 3 & 4 battery compatibility.

Might be a firmware issue. Make sure the firmware matches.
