There are several brand names made for electronics and circuit boards. Look at reviews and prices on Amazon. Auto parts and hardware stores carry as well. There's always a Walmart close too.
I used to buy/sell drones to support my drone habit and plenty had bad batteries. They're often a large part of the value when purchasing so confirming they are usable is very important. Many novice owners do not maintain batteries properly, as you've seen. I wouldn't try to repair, only replace...
There are places to list lost and found, like your local newspaper and Facebook. If the owner has mentioned the loss to friends, it may get returned. Better yet, post a flyer with ph# near the location you found them. They're valuable so probably get a reward.
One popular youtube video was testing distance over water using an A2 with a Rescue Jacket. It was exciting cuz he barely made it home with 10% battery left. FAA used that video to bust him for BVLOS flight and faced consequences (a fine I believe).
Conclusion: don't post your drone violations
Battery most likely had a bad cell even after showing 100%. The fact you didn't get a battery warning before takeoff (?) it failed very shortly afterwards. Only takes a few seconds to check cell strength before flights to confirm battery health (volts nearly identical). Personally, I've had more...
My Tampa Bay area is highly congested. Haven't seen any planes not transmitting locally. I find ADS-B very helpful and use it always, drones and planes
Correct, thanks for clarification. Can't recieve if not transmitted, although most aircraft, even small private ones, do nowadays. They're even on commercial boats now, like mine, I have to log in before leaving the dock. Big brother.. lol
Great job, great story. As a commercial waterman myself it's heartwarming to see boaters get involved when trouble comes. The drone use prove the capabilities beyond just taking pictures. A big Thank You from all us waterman that sometimes need a helping hand.
PS: I've rescued many boaters in...
I use Flight Aware to see and track local planes (incl height), mainly to follow my son's 4 private aircraft. You'd need a second device as switching apps during flight takes too long to avoid collisions. A fun app to use as you can zoom out and watch all planes in flight, commercial and private...
Believe it's a mooring basin, owners take small boats to shore. Many city waterfronts have permanent or transient anchorages available, unlike this one they're often filled with sail boats.
Hopefully you marked your drone with at least a phone #. I have # on outside and in battery compartment along with 'Reward if found'. Got my P4 back that way after loss in a hurricane.. true story.
