    Looking To Film A Boat??

There are a whole boat load of videos on you tube about filming on the water - and with good reason. The downward sensors get confused with water reflection, drones don't float, etc. I would suggest investing some time in watching those videos and keep a healthy respect for the water.

Smart controller for M2Z firmware update horrors and happies

I pulled out my M2Z and smart controller yesterday to get ready for today's flight. The controller gave a message - needed a firmware update to V01.01.0076. After one try I got an error message - needed more memory, can't do the install. After checking, I saw I had plenty of memory.. I checked...

Why are drones not offered in more visible colours?

If propeller guards are available for your drone, I would try those. I have prop guards, spay painted them red, and now the drone has a bigger footprint in the sky and is more visible.

    Battery storage

At one time I experienced a thermal runaway - one of the batteries malfunctioned and had a melt down. The only reason my house did not go up in flames is because the battery was stored in an air tight pelican case - along with the drone and other batteries. The drone was toasted - literally -...

    Goodby Battery #1

Truth be told, I already have battery #2 - #8, so I'm good to go!

    Goodby Battery #1

Batteries do have a finite life and you should treat them like kings. When the time is near, there will be indications - not charging fully, uneven cell charge levels, swelling, etc. The fear of battery death is not a good reason to put your drone on the shelf. As I mentioned in my original...

    Goodby Battery #1

Thank you all for your kind and sensitive messages. I believe I am now going through the - what - 7 or 8 stages - of dealing with death - denial, fear, compromise, etc. I still have battery #1 on the table, and I keep pushing its button, hoping that this time there may be signs of life. But no...

    Goodby Battery #1

I purchased my Mavic 2 Zoom in 2020 with battery #1. Over the years we had many happy flights together. Today as I was getting ready for a Real Estate shoot, I put batter #1 into the charger, and, nothing. No lights, no indication of charging, nothing. Pushing the on/off button repeatedly did...

    Continuous drone flying issues

Howdy, some unsolicited advice about charging batteries - when battery #1 comes out of the drone, set it down and let it cool off. When battery #3 goes into the drone, now you can charge battery #1. If you can skip a battery during your charging process, they will have a chance to cool and...

    New batteries

Someone up here once said that anything that is essential to keep the drone up in the air - props, batteries, etc. should be bought new and not manufactured by third parties.
