I upgraded from a Tello to the Mini and while the Mini has very definite limits, it can handle some wind. I've flown on days where UAV Forecast has said it was 10+mph winds and gusting close to 20.

I don't know about the other Mavics but the Mini can't be made to not charge an android phone while plugged into the RC without rooting it. I have the Galaxy S20+ and like it but it is a consideration. Since you're already firmly in the Apple family, I'd say stick with it.
