Are there any apps like "Aloft" for Spain, France, Italy, Switzerland?

Swiss U-Space is the Swiss aviation authority's drone planning app. Works well though I think it's had updates since I used it in April 2023.

DJI ban: What happens to the drone I already own?

Well, I guess I should open a store selling DJI drones close to the border. I imagine many Americans could end up sourcing their DJI drones from here and smuggling them back.... not that I would condone such illicit activities of course!

Large group photo in a Convention Hall

I would use the drone, if the lighting is good and you can get visual positioning, you should be fine.

A.P.: What you need to know about the DJI drone ban in the U.S.

That's a very concerning case. While I'm no fan of CCP, or its very wide and well known espionage activities, it's sage to say that it's quite a leap to link drone photography of a massive object like an aircraft carrier to espionage - for a variety of reasons. Also, any attempt to link that...

    Distance

The newer drones are pretty good, and going around objects shouldn't present too much of a problem in most cases. However, a couple of things: 1. Any objects between you and the drone could interfere with the radio link, resulting in diminished or unstable communication with the drone. 2. If...

Remote ID question and question for Canadians

In Ontario (the other 9 provinces have their own similar legislation) the Trespass to Property Act gives wide latitude to an owner/occupier of premises to control entry to and activities upon their property. Public building are usually covered under separate legislation. During the G8/G20...

Remote ID question and question for Canadians

Having been that security guard before and can say with some level of confidence that it doesn't matter really whether an activity was permitted at any point, once an owner or occupier, or agent for the owner of occupier (I.e. security guard) tells you that you can't do something, the Trespass...

    Upcoming to US/Canada border

Late to the show, but yes, can confirm. Flew my Air 2S around Peggy's Cove and nobody cared. I wasn't even the only drone operating. I checked the airspace restrictions first, and also confirmed its not a national park, surprisingly.

Remote ID question and question for Canadians

What's the difference between a sign telling you that you may not go into some place or do some activity, even in a public building or work, and a security guard verbally telling you the same thing? Why prefer to listen to one over the other? Because I can assure you in my jurisdiction...

Remote ID question and question for Canadians

Even public property can exclude access to classes of members of the public though. Just because your tax dollars paid for CIA headquarters doesn't mean you can roam its hallways carte blanche.

Remote ID question and question for Canadians

Sometimes it's worthwhile to force the issue to a head, if for no other reason than to gain clarity. Nobody wants to be first, usually, but it may help with setting the precedent one way or the other. Roads *can* be privately owned, but even then, if the public has open access to them it's hard...

Learn to FLY your NEW expensive DJI!!

My fiancee and I started a day camp focused on drone flying. The drones we use are CoDrone EDU's (as noted in my signature). They're designed for indoor flying, there's no GPS. They have visual position sensors, and that's about it. So essentially you fly them in "ATTI" mode the whole time...
