had a experience similar a few years back but with a small float plane, i fly the Tennessee river for the most part, i was around 150 foot or so above some parked barges, kept it aimed at the barges and started backing to the river bank, out of no where a small float plane come in and dropped...
i got permission to fly the USS Alabama a couple years ago, and keep the email authorization with me when i flew it. and it paid off, because security came to me very quickly wanting to know what i was doing, showed them the approval all was good after that.
somewhere in time we seemed to have lost connection over the batterys , lets change this wanted thread to anyone have a mavic pro 1 controller ? color does not matter, dead battery does not matter.
never lost one that way, lost many flying from land over water, the good old days. made a drag hook and found one that went down about 20 feet from the bank, the sd card survived, of course the phantom 3 gave up the ghost.
i had one to run out of battery and land in a persons yard, i had info label on it, he called me to come and get it. nice person. it was a bebop on a mission cruise, battery estimates did not work out properly by about half a mile.
always liked the orginal dji mavic pro, it fits all my needs, i would have keep the phantom 3 pros, however they all had untimely deaths, river accidents, trees, etc... so i am a keeper
the old bebop was a fun little unit to fly, sending it on missions and wondering if it would come back. always a thrill. wish they had stayed in the market. never got to fly the disco, from videos it looked like a crazy drone to fly. not really sure what new and innovative ideals a company could...
