I agree. I do this as well when I'm flying in a large public area. Even better if there's a parking garage where I can park on the top floor with no cover. I put the landing pad on top of my SUV, sit in the car, take pictures of the buildings and landscape, and no one bothers me.
Thank you guys, a lot of ideas I hadn't thought of. Especially the close ups! I'll have to bring my normal camera. No law against mixing in some non-drone footage with the drone footage to tie it together right?
I'm still learning drone photography / videography. I've been going to events and taking photos/videos for personal use as a way to learn. I want to take a video of my local church one evening when no one is there (since I can't fly over people or vehicles) until I get my license and...
This one is a first for me. I've been flying drones at home for years, but just a few months ago finally took the leap from $100 Amazon drone to a legit DJI drone. In that entire time I've only had some kids come up to me and want to try it. Never had a problem until today.
I'm in my back...
Yeah this and the looks are my biggest concern. So far I haven't seen anyone say this caused a malfunction on their drone, but if there is a malfunction I'm guessing it would be pretty easy for DJI to see the mod in the battery logs? Which I'm guessing would also void my coverage. I'll take...
Thanks for sharing. Just out of curiosity what type of device was your controller connected to? I was using an iPad pro. It also happened on my iPad mini. I haven't tried an android device yet so I'm wondering if this is an issue with the Fly app on ios only or is an issue across the board?
Today I had an unusual occurrence flying my Air 2s. I live near an airport and am used to the alerts pop up that an airplane is coming my way as it begins its landing decent to the local airport. It's a little overbearing seeing as how my drone is 87 ft in the air and the plane is 2037ft up...
There are Master Air Screw low noise propellers on Amazon. I bought (2) pair last week. There is a noticeable difference, and now the props match the color of my wrapped drone. I even noticed they run a little cooler than the Mavic pair. Flew until the battery was telling me it was time to...
Pull! That's why I keep (2) cards. I take one out to edit photos, and pop the second in for the next flight. Then reverse it next time. Prior to that I had a few flights where I had forgotten to put it back in, so now I stick with (2) and sync all the photos to a cloud drive so there's never...
Can confirm I have the same thing happening. In order to get the photos to my phone I have to go into the Album while the drone is still connected to the controller, which is still connected to my phone. Then I can download the photos directly onto the phone via the album.
I'm using (3) different tablets. I have a new iPad Mini, a 2018 iPad Pro, and a Samsung Galaxy S7+ tablet. The Samsung tablet has the least connection issues, but it's impossible to see on a sunny day without a hood. The iPad's are amazing on sunny days, but the iPad pro has connection...
I had this same issue using my iPad Pro, but didn't have any freezing issues when I use my Galaxy Tab S7+. My iPad Pro doesn't play nice to begin with. I have to connect a USB battery to the controller to get the iPad to recognize the video stream. Seems to be a known issue with the 2018 iPad...
Thanks, I took two of the rainbow and then a couple other shots. The one I posted is the one that I liked the best. I was a little concerned my first time flying around skyscrapers so I didn't fly long, but it turned out OK.

Sounds reasonable. When I condition batteries for other devices it's typically by draining them first. Just wasn't sure if we could do that since around 4% it starts to auto-land. I'll have to force it to continue to hover next time.
