And any type of helicopter-based visual ground surveys and other similar work (SARs, wildlife and park resource management projects, fire fighting, crop dusting, etc), often require helicopters to fly very low, even just tens of feet above ground level.
Besides not following the TFR, I wonder...
There are two BLM parcels in my area that are landlocked and both of them have “private” roads leading to them that are now gated by the adjacent landowners. One I used to like to fly on and the other has an active mining claim that the prospecting club I belong to owns. I’m going to have to do...
More details here- interesting how the land owner tried to keep public lands to himself. There’s also interesting information about the unlawful enclosures act that prevents a land owner from fencing off public lands...
Well, all the news said the same thing about the Canadian fire plane that was “hit by a drone” last summer. And by pure logic, had the guy’s lawyer been on top of it, he could’ve ended the case by proving in court that it was actually the fire bomber that hit the drone! 🤪
Ugh-, I couldn’t watch the entire video- a long time ago in my “I am invisible and I know and can do everything!“ 20’s, I tried going down a steep rocky face while backcountry skiing. It was unnerving and an entirely boring way to ski as I had to go slow and kept stopping to get around ledges...
Even better, a paparazzi 107 holder. 🙄
Who ever it was made it so much worse for themselves by not immediately coming forward. Do you know if they turned themselves in or were they found by the authorities?
I forgot about that, you’re right, those were great videos also, and more impressive than this one was because it hadn’t been done before. At least I think so.
This is impressive, the entire climbing route of Mount Everest in one shot - and 29,000 feet of elevation gain. The video is sped up (as seen with the climbers going really fast), but notice the stability even though the drone was being buffeted by strong winds- technically a very well done...
Hi @iRonNuke, these are good suggestions for safety- but it’s best to properly recycle batteries and not throw them into the regular trash. To ensure it is safely drained, it’s a good suggestion to use the salt water method that Felix suggested first. Good luck on the repairs and safer flying...
Sounds like it’s an international issue for many - a neighborhood fireworks arms race. I’ve never seen professional grade fireworks sold to laypersons before like they are now, even a few years ago. And now it seems that some are made just to be loud without much show.
Impersonating the...
Wow, good on your neighbor! Someone started a fire in town last night also, it ran through a field threatening some homes also, but the FD got to it in time.
So yeah, I’m glad the drone worked, and am happy to help out my neighbors. We have tall palms and other trees in the neighborhood that...
