I took a trip to Abaco in the Carribean (got flight clearance first... It's really easy) and found some great sights to fly and shoot. Upon taking my Mavic out and getting it ready I started seeing gps errors (kept switching to ATTI mode) as well as image transmission errors. Of course I freaked...
The relevance is there were flight restrictions in place before you purchased it that you had no issues with.
There are no restrictions as long as you perform an update that offers more features and more granular control over no fly zones (which is better for us), and you still have the option...
Don't sweat too much about the rules (not that I am advocating ignoring them). I felt the same way when I started looking at flight restrictions before I got my Mavic, but after doing more reading and research found there are plenty of areas that are open or have varying levels of restrictions...
Why? He is getting hung up on the rules. Im not saying to ignore them, but if you fixate on the rules and don't research them and follow along he will put the Mavic away and never fly again.
As a professional photographer I can tell you there are just as many rules and regs controlling where you can and can't shoot with a camera... you just haven't run in to them.
Don't worry, just stay out of the red areas and have fun!
But please learn about and follow the rules. They are there...
This is slammed together so I can get opinions.
I am experiencing jumpy video and I'm not sure why.
I am recording in 4K NTSC (both 24 and 30 fps).I have ordered ND filters so that might have an effect.
