Hiya Bigozpete,
I'm heading over to Phillip Island in a couple of weeks so wondering where you flew. I'm a bit anxious of falling foul of all the reserves/parks restrictions.
I agree. I use the.car charger all the time. I can use a battery, put it on charge (after a.little time to cool) and have it almost fully charged by the time I am through my 3rd battery.
I would definitely recommend the fly more combo. I still bought a hard case but everything CAN fit in the DJI...
I would agree with Bakerboy here that a NFZ is exactly that, but don't necessarily agree with the logic in these areas. I shot video a couple of weeks ago 10m off the ground near a building that was 25m tall. Now before everyone goes spare about how I broke the rules I am not a cowboy (I...
Hi all, Are you guys aware of the new CASA app? If so, any comments on its usefulness? My son showed it to me last night and it seems like a positive step at least. Below is the Android link.
Can I fly there? - Android Apps on Google Play
Thanks for that. I've been looking at getting some filters. Does anyone have any feedback on the NISI? Are the 6 in this pack the right ones? New pilot and so far have mostly shot landscapes.
The first time I took mine up to 90m I thought my heart9was going to jump out of my chest. Took me.over an hour for the adrenaline rush to slow. Now I am quite comfortable going to the full 120m (400ft).
I would still.agree with earlier posts to take it easy (I went straight up and straight...
I got mine two weeks ago after being in the same situation as you. Without a doubt my advice is buy it. I definitely don't regret it for all the reasons given above. I had real post purchase anxiety. It also took a few flights for the nerves to settle but the Mavic is such a pleasure to fly...
Can anyone help with a question? Around most of the towns is a fligt zone of RMZ with upper and lower limits. I understand that RMZ is Mandatory radio and the upper and lower is altitudes that this zone applies to. What I don't understand is how this applies to drones. Where I want to fly today...
I ended up paying $2016 for the package plus another $70 for the card. In hindsight I shouldn't have bothered with the extra card yet as I've been nervous enough with the short stints I've had (although insurance has made me a little less nervous) but I can see it being needed in the not too...
Love the name Haxinacrackatit!
I'm certainly not the most experienced pilot here and am very new myself to the Mavic but I can tell you about my very recent purchase experience (last week). I had searched in lots of places and was unsure of availability like yourself. I happened to notice...
Sounds like what RACV had. With GIO I have a $500 excess on the house but it's only $100 on the Mavic and other extras whereas the RACV one sounds like yours with $500 across the board.
I was interested in the previous discussion regarding insurance for Mavic. My particular worry is around public liability and crashing it.
Just confirmed on our renewal that it IS covered. We're with GIO and they have charged me under specified items (around $40 extra pa with a $100 excess)...
Hi All - Very new pilot here. Only got the Mavic yesterday and am really bummed that the weather won't let me fly today.
I'm interested in the discussion about CASA rules and don't agree that it's clear. For example the height limit often quoted is 120m but the CASA site says in restricted...
