    48mp super resolution

If you have Photoshop or PhotoAcute you can do superresolution using bursts. See my thread Better Stills from the Mavic from 2017. It's a technique similar to what Olympus, Pentax and Sony use in-camera, but you can use any camera to do the same thing. Follow that thread down to an example I...

    Better stills from the Mavic

First, you are correct, for lens/camera profiles. Second, these are not the corrections PA needs. I don't know what goes on under the hood, but I'm assuming PA derives a kind of profile from individual camera/lens combinations that is used in an estimated single image deconvolution. When PA was...

    Better stills from the Mavic

Unfortunately, these aren't the profiles PhotoAcute uses. From files sent by users, presumably with camera profiles applied in whatever RAW converter was used, PA staff produce their own "profiles" which are designed to work best with PA. But as I mentioned, if you pick a lens/camera combination...

    Better stills from the Mavic

You will get best results with a matching profile (which we don't have) but it doesn't matter too much if you can find a camera and focal length close to the Mavic's. I don't recall what I used but it was a low-megapixel compact. Try a few and see what works best. When the profile is way off you...

    THE RULES!!

    Exactly my feelings.

    Never Crashed Survey

Nope. I did land in a wet spot while shooting just above a local nature preserve when I hit the land button instead of RTH. Got the duckweed out of the sensors and all has been fine since. Otherwise, close to flawless flying, even in some kinds of hairy circumstances.

    Close call with GOD !!!

Confucious say: He who flies backwards gets *** in sling. (Yeah, I know--politically incorrect. I own it)

    Cold weather flying

It's a lot safer to seal it in plastic bag before bringing it in from the cold. Take it out when the Mavic gets to room temperature. Camera people do that routinely.

    First Photo, critique?

Well done. Very nice lighting. To pick the nit, white balance is a bit on the blue side, but that's your choice.

    Photo clarity with mavic question

I agree. Sharpening the RAW file just a bit would polish it up. We have to remember that the Mavic camera is no better than most point-and-shoots for stills; your shot is pretty decent technically for that kind of gear, IMO.

RTH to RC. Most people don't know this.

+1. More and more, especially on photo sites, tips are offered on video that could be managed in text more profitably. Don't people read anymore? (Rhetorical question). Not quite on topic but it reminds me of a recent cartoon. Parents take a four year old to a counselor: "No, he can read and...

So I️ had my first swim in the Olentangy River today...

I can't give any reliable advice about the Mavic, but I'd follow the recommendations in the battery manual and dispose of that LiPo. And if the bird turns out to be OK, be careful for a while. I went in the shower with my hearing aids, and they got wet for just a few seconds. They worked fine...

    Better stills from the Mavic

Read about the technique, then actually do the experiment for a number of images; then see what works best for you.

    Take Off Tactics

Light, and cheap, too. I keep mine in the car. Never have to worry about dew. If it gets wet it dries in minutes.

DJI Mavic Pro Platinum (Just Released)

3dBA is twice the sound pressure, not power (Lw). Two Mavic Pros will produce a sound pressure level 3dBA higher than one. Noise perception depends upon a lot of factors.
