Have you got Model Auto-Update enabled. That will install model updates automatically that are updates but not full firmware updates. There wouldn’t be a firmware increment for that.

Hall sensors rarely wander. If the rc is stored with the sticks fitted and off centre you’ll weaken a spring over time so that physical centre no longer equals electrical centre hence the need to recalibrate.

Looking at the RC2 specifications, the only reason that it would need connection to a phone would be to give it internet connection. Disabling mobile data (not near a wifi connection) would sever that.
If you want to fly a mini 4 pro you have to use DJI fly.
