    Iceland, worth taking the Mavic?

Can you save the rest of us the time of digging, and link to where we'd apply for the right permits?

    Different standards (with 107)

When you have a part 107 license, you can choose for each flight whether to fly recreationally or if you're flying under the 107 rules. At least, unless there's a reason you can't choose - like, if you're desiring to fly within a restricted airspace and haven't gotten a waiver, you must fly...

Neighbour upset for flying next to his property.

Thanks, I wasn't aware of that, especially given that the AMA is just one organization that might be used for a set of community-based guidelines. I suppose, combined with the FAA guidance, it's "25 feet from" "except not over". Gets tricky when you talk about flying at a great height - what's...

Neighbour upset for flying next to his property.

(see "it" meaning anything about "25 feet").

Neighbour upset for flying next to his property.

Can someone please cough up an actual 25 feet reference? The FAA talks about not flying over people, but I don't see it any of the actual regulations, nor on the FAA website.

    Up and Down Only.....

Try disabling your downward sensors? If that fixes it, they may need to ber cleaned or calibrated.

Who flew Mavic Pro on WhiteFace Mountain Castle Cafe on July 4?

A quick check of the maps.... makes "confiscated" an odd consequence, because there's no NFZ in that region. Hopefully someone steps in to tell the whole story. Sounds like maybe they'd issue a ticket, if the park ranger felt so inclined: Drone regulations are on DEC’s radar - LakePlacidNews.com...

    Delaware usa

Hey, I'l be visiting relatives in Delaware City in a few weeks, was hoping to clarify what I'll be allowed to do with my Mavic while there. I've found both this: Delaware Drone Laws (2017) - and, of course, this thread. FAA pre-emption is still... an open area of discussion, everywhere, though I...

    What is commercial?

That's not what the FAA says at all. For instance, right here they say: "Flying for commercial use (e.g. providing aerial surveying or photography services) Flying incidental to a business (e.g. doing roof inspections or real estate photography)" And here they say: "Recreational or hobby UAS use...

Got my license in the mail today.

    Litchi left a gap.

What's the advantage of taking a pano in portrait? What settings do you use for a portrait pano in Litchi?

New Firmware & FAA reg number?

You should only need to log in once, so long as you don't log out. I have exactly the same setup, and have flown multiple batteries with the Nexus 7 without data more than once since updating to .800. Try it out where you have wifi to make sure it all works, but, so long as you stay logged in...

New Firmware & FAA reg number?

Caveat: for recreational use. The ruling doesn't apply to the commercial path, eg, part 107, you should still register your drones if you're going that path.

NFZ vs. part 107 certified with Mavic, central US

Are you sure you're checking the charts right? In all the cases I've seen so far, which definitely includes my immediate area (Pittsburgh), you get "Enhanced Warning Zones" for things like a class D airspace. Having your part 107 doesn't give you permission to fly in those areas - in fact...
