Kauai Northshore - Hanalei - After The Flood

Hello all, we just got back from our vacation on the north shore of Kauai. My Mavic Pro performed awesomely the whole trip. However, I wanted to go back to one of the same spots from last year. Hanalei, on the North Shore, received a record rainfall of 48" in 24 hrs in April 2018. This forever...

    Great DJI Refresh Repair Experience

@TrayBoz- yeah I was super pleased with the result. I flew it today and went out about 2000' over water (towards seattle from the West) and it flew perfectly. The refresh program is an ideal form of security imho. I think the repair facility was CA or AZ.

    Great DJI Refresh Repair Experience

They actually sent me a new one, fairly certain. And it had the "new unit feel" - even though it came in a plain box wrapped in bubble wrap (sufficiently).

    Great DJI Refresh Repair Experience

Hello everyone I wanted to report a great experience with DJI repair through the refresh program. I've been flying by Mavic pro for nine months and only had one slight crash into a tree at slow speed did not affect flight at all from that point on (only had to replace a prop). Three weeks...

Post your best Photo From Mavic

Hanalei Pier, Hanalei, Kauai (Northshore). Mt. Waialale (middle mountain) is the wettest place on earth! The pier is a favorite jumping spot for the kids.

Kauai: Hanalei Bay & Bali Hai (South End of NaPali Coastline, Kauai, Hawaii)

I was flying Secret Falls and I got the message (something like): "since you don't have GPS signal, you are limited to 90' "or something. I had not experienced that before - is it a setting in the app? It was enclosed in a tight canyon so no cell or GPS signal in or out.

Kauai: Hanalei Bay & Bali Hai (South End of NaPali Coastline, Kauai, Hawaii)

Hi all, had a great vacation to Northshore Kauai (Princeville, Hanalei). The Mavic Pro performed flawlessly. Only surprise was when cell signal was not available - was limited to the "tether range (90 feet?)" so shooting waterfalls became less dramatic. But for the most part - shots like this...

Kayak camping with my Mavic Pro

Fantastic video with a great focus on storytelling - one of the best video posts I've seen on Mavic Pilots.

Who has a problem free Mavic Pro

No issues. Lots of flights and only a few issues where the controller told me I was close to signal intererence ("Doh...guess that radio antenna over near that utility shed 50' away may be a problem"). It's an amazing bit of tech. Home | Meet Kitsap has many of the aerial videos I have taken...

Any Kauai Mavic flying tips? (Primarily Northshore)

Hello everyone if you have any experience flying Kauai would love to hear some do's and don'ts and "must shoots!" on the island. (Beyond the normal No Fly Zones, federal park, and Airport boundary advise). We have been to the island eight or nine times and are going back for 10 days in July...

Hi everyone.. im thinking about upgrading! what u think? :)

The out of the box quality was top notch. I have done some work to optimize for different scenes - it for landscapes it is set to the sweet spot straight out of the box. Some others modify the settings and go with a flatter color profile and tone range but I prefer it as is. I did...

Hi everyone.. im thinking about upgrading! what u think? :)

Hello Najkks - the Mavic Pro is my first drone, but I wanted to share that the portability of this one was the deciding factor for me - in addition to the video quality. The portability just cannot be matched - while I admire the larger drones and payload they can carry, it seems the pilots...

    Did I make a mistake?

Be courageous and use the beginner mode like training wheels - it is a great feature. I have had mine for 1 month and am stretching the limits more each flight. Confidence and control can only be learned in the field - so go fly and let your smile tell everyone you have a Mavic Pro! I...

    Hello from Seattle WA (Poulsbo/Kitsap)

Hello everyone, new pilot from Seattle/Puget Sound area. Have had the Mavic Pro for about 10 days and am giddy like a school kid from the unbelievable capabilities it has. Interested in learning quite a bit more on the following topics: - Safe/legal flying habits and prep (following the...
