Keeping .DATs on the Mavic Pro accessible

Sadly, I had to downgrade from 01.04.0400 to 01.04.0100 as 01.04.0400 had severe problems with jittery video transmission during video recording and a problem with drifting. So the FTP method is still highly relevant.

Keeping .DATs on the Mavic Pro accessible

That did the trick for me! Thank you! I was starting to get worried that my logs were simply randomly vanishing (or not appearing at all).

Is everyone upgrading to the Platinum props?

I had the same problem with the old props too, when flying into the sun - that's the shadow the props cast over the camera. As the new props a little longer, the effect may be a bit more noticeable. It's winter here now, so I did not get to try the new props as much as I'd want, but they are...

    Drone disconnects and flyaway

I attached to the rare, on the surface below the DJI logo. Been flying with it whole summer - no problems. IMG_2430 by BumblerBee posted Nov 25, 2017 at 4:02 PM

    Drone disconnects and flyaway

Attach a tag like this one: Loc8tor Finder Tracker to your next drone. I will help with a search pattern during a situation like this.

    Cree ultra bright light

Got mine (white) from eBay here: DRONE WHITE CREE STROBE LIGHT RC PLANE DJI INSPIRE 1 2 PHANTOM MAVIC QUADCOPTER | eBay Mounted mine like this: And did two batteries worth of flights today. Clear blue sky with the Sun low above the horizon. I could spot Mavic easily for about 500 meters by...

Aircraft disconnected from app not remote

Hi! If it's iPhone, try cleaning the lightning slot by blowing into it (maybe buy a small lens blower). I do get occasional disconnects, but they go away for a period of time after cleaning.

What will be your most important advise to a new-be?

Read the manual (downloadable from DJI site), watch the turtorial videos on DJI website, then read the manual again. Look though what the app has to offer while Mavic is connected, but the props are off. Read the manual again. Use the built-in sim. Read the manual once more just to be on the...

Experience with Carbon Landing Gear Skid Gimbal Guard and Lens Hood

Seeing as the weather outside prevents even the thought of flying (rain, wind, occasional thunder), I did some camera testing inside, hand-hold "flying" Mavic. I did a few typical manoeuvres, tilting it forward and backward, rotating and banking. Tried several gimbal positions: forward, 45* and...

Experience with Carbon Landing Gear Skid Gimbal Guard and Lens Hood

The lens hood arrived today. First observation: it fits well, and it can actually be combined with the gimbal guard:

I noticed that the mounting screw is a bit longer than the back "feet", so Mavic rests on the screw(s), rather than the feet.

Experience with Carbon Landing Gear Skid Gimbal Guard and Lens Hood

I bought the following shield to give my Mavic and its camera a better protection from below: Carbon Landing Gear Skid Kit Gimbal Guard Plate Protector for DJI Mavic Pro Body | eBay First thing I noticed when mounting, was that one rare screw on Mavic is glue-sealed, as a warranty protection...

How long before preventative laws make drone flying as boring as everything else again?

It seems we are repeating the same path, legislation-wise that was already trodden with other innovations. Lawmakers have no idea about an innovation, see it as a threat, and limit it. When cars first appeared, there were in some countries required by law to not drive faster than horse...

Lost control in weird 'joystick' mode

I got this mysterious "Joystick" mode today. I was trying DronePan app (DronePan on the App Store) and decided to be in a safe spot with only 4m of altitude. Started the batch program in the app. I however was taking pictures of the same spot, instead of rotating and taking several rows. I tried...
