Sounds about right, although my reply was nothing to do with flying inside and everything to do with gps signals outside, so not sure why it was a reply to my comment but either way all good info though. :-)
Well if you are hooked up to as many satellites as it does( I have never had less than 19) then I would think it would matter and the GPS would intact be more accurate than you think. It may not know your exact position relative to you exactly but it would know that it is moving from the...
Opti mode will work inside and is where I use that mode the most obviously because if I am outside I get a gps lock. BUT... opti mode needs good lighting to work. You may think you have enough light but you probably don't so then it will go all the way down to atti mode. I found this out as well...
I have yet to fly in temps above -5C. And have done a few around the -15C mark. Have had no problems at all with many 4 battery outings at -10C.

I did you a hand warmer that time when going through all 4 batteries. I can usually go through a couple batteries without a warmer at the same temperature but haven't tried more than a couple flights.

An update to compare with. I went flying today, used all 4 batteries back to back. taking the batteries down to 30% i got 20min flight time out of each battery. At the end of the 4th battery the RC battery was at 63% and my iPhone 6sPlus was at 50%. I did have a sticky hand warmer on the back...
If anyone in Canada is looking for batteries, Aerialtech.com has them in stock. I have ordered a couple from them in separate shipments and both times shipping was very fast.
I have found a package of these only instead of "hand warmers" they are "body warmers" and have a sticky side for sticking to clothing. I stick that right to the back of my iphone 6splus and it works awesome. no sticky residue afterwards either.
I have not payed super close attention to exact numbers yet, but while flying 2 batteries, before I got my other 2, in -10C conditions I would never see the RC charge below 80% when I was finished with the 2 batteries. I was only running them down to about 40% though to be on the safe side with...
This is the best solution I have found so far as well, but after your first free year of service it is $5 per month, not $5 per year, just to clarify. :-)
Pelican Storm im2100 is very similar to the 1400 but the latches are much more user friendly and has 2 layers of foam instead of 1 thick one.

Went with the Storm im 2100 here. Pretty much the same size as the 1400 but the latches are a lot easier to open and there is 2 layers of foam to work with.
