I'd like to know the answer as well. That the gimbal plate is a chappy part is increasingly obvious.

Sendas, you'll need to partially disassemble it to get to where you can replace the gimbal plate. You can't just remove it from below. Watch several videos, and take your time. I replaced mine today (I'm no expert) in about two hours.

The FAA has interpreted VLOS to mean under either Part 101 or 107 as within sight of the naked, unaided eye. FYI.

Also, I found that an Xacto knife was very helpful to (a) cut through the black silicon on two of the connectors on top, (b) pop off all four connectors on top, and (c) once the gimbal assembly is out, to pop off the flat white connector at the end of the ribbon cable from the little circuit...
