to be honest.. he had hand launched it at least 3 times that day.. he somehow got freaked out and dropped it. as I mentioned above.. a brain fart is the best way I can describe it.

Funny how there is a lot of responses about pity, anger.. none of this happened to us in real life, posters here must have quite difficult emotional control. After the drone dropped, I laughed in disbelief, my friend felt badly and apologized, and then I made a joke about commandeering his 60ft...

Yea, from a sail boat standing on the rear transom is only way. My friend is actually a longtime drone owner (phantom) as we as a mavic owner.. it was just one of those things, a freak-out, a brain fart. Anyway.. not hear to talk about that, was just asking about replacement cost for the drone...

why be pissed at a friend?.. he'll do whats right, but I rarely get upset with friends, especially when something is an accident... as most things in life are.

yea no.. this baby is waaaay at the bottom of the bay.. happened just under golden gate actually.. would have made for some amazing footage LOL. Again, i was told that for $500 they replace just the drone itself, no accessories.. any truth to this? I knew it wouldn't be any kind of insurance...

Probably nothing new on this forum, but deeply saddening to me.. after just a month with my Mavic, I was having a friend hand-launch it from a boat.. somehow he got freaked out by propellers and before they actually started rotating, he sort of.. "threw" it and it plopped into the water. UGH...

isnt that what the DJI Inspire 2 is already? I also thought of two other items: -upward vision.. so when you're flying indoors for example it won't crash into the roof if you lose connectivity and the "go home" mode activates. -some kind of redundant system so if one of the propellers or...

Hello, new guy here, I have had my Mavic for a month or so, and have thoroughly enjoyed every second of it. I'm still pretty terrible with my manual flying and filming.. very jerky, need to use the automatic modes more, need to learn how to build a storyline for my videos. but I'm having fun...

i was in south africa on a yacht offshore, and i flew my mavic to shore and dropped into the world cup stadium in capetown. Once I got into the stadium i was losing signal so I had to fly home. would a range extender have helped in this situation?
