Ive got the same thing happening....
Havnt flown the mavic for about 3 weeks.
Went to fire it up today and Go4 forces me to a sign in screen. It has my email there, but wont let me enter anything in the password field.
So,
I plan on shooting some footage from a boat using trace & follow modes and will be on the boat having the mavic following the boat for a prolonged period in one direction.
What precautions should I do during the flight. Since the mavic records the homepoint at takeoff, as I increase my...
I'd agree, perfectly appropriate for hand catching on land..
But in his post he asked this:
So again, you have never done it and yet you dismiss my actual experience at landing on a boat?? I would think someone with a Capt. license would understand the concept thata drifting boat is not...
HAHA
I like my fingers attached, so i'll only catch at idle as well. Also I have added pool noodle floaties to give more area below the props to grasp on landing. Skids like on the Phantoms would be much better...
Heres a good one to watch.. I imagine it would be similar on a boat that isnt...
Tips are great. But this member is asking about launching from a boat or while moving.. Your method is great from land, but a boat drifting isn't so simple. Its pretty challenging to fly forward or backwards & down with one hand, so you can reach out and catch the drone with the other one...

Catching on a boat, unless anchored, or unless its a really really big boat will require a 2nd...
Hand catching on land is MUCH easier than on a boat that is drifting along. You will find its hard to just come straight down, because any small breeze can push your boat or if there is tide currents or swells you will be moving. So you will have to continue to pace the Mavic to keep up with...
Haven't been able to source the solid noodles locally, but I found some hollow ones at the Dollar Store. 4' long, $1.00.
I notched the front & back to lock them in the arms. Then pre-drilled holes for zip ties.
Had to shave a bit off the top of noodle to give plenty of clearance for back...
When I ordered my mavic from DJI, my CC company actually locked my CC. They thought the purchase was suspicious, and wouldn't let me use the card again until I called to verify the charge.
