I hear the process to apply for a permit is intrusive with them wanting social security numbers and other personal info. The process can take up to 20 days plus and there is no guarantee that you'll get the permit and are expensive permitting fees returned if you don't? I'm not sure about that...

I would not consider flying any Mavic in the rain. Whether it's the Air, Mavic Pro or Mavic 2. They are not by any means even water resistant. Maybe the next Gen Phantom will have that capability.......we'll see.
