Yes, I sadly lost my mavic. Any ideas?

This is scary stuff. I am retired, partially disabled, and probobly only manage fly once every six months or so. My eyesight is not as good as it once was so LOS is a deminishing quantity. I topically only fly with Litchi. I never have updated either the controller or the MP (and it flys...

    Tampa Bay Area Pilots

I've flown at Anclote Gulf Park a couple times and park staff have seen me and never said anything. I've also flown at Fred Howard park, but I keep a low profile and stay away from other park users. (That can be a trick on weekends, but I've usually been up there during weekdays.)

    Tampa Bay Area Pilots

I live in st pete and know that it’s limited. I typically go up by brooksville, the green swamp, or Ocala forest but to be honest, almost every time I’ve gone somewhere that I expected a hassle, I didn’t get one. Maybe because I don’t make myself obvious.

    How many batteries to get

I have found the DJI car charger to be completely useless. It won't charge for me worth a ****. I typically take the regular charger and run it through an inverter.

Oh man, that's just sick! ;)

    How many batteries to get

I use 4, but always try to keep one battery fresh. I try to fly in wilderness areas and like to have the ability to grab one unexpected flight if I stumble across something spectacular on my way out. Then if I don't go out within 48 hrs, I have to burn down the fourth battery by charging my...

DJI Goggles and the need to update firmware on the Mavic

Robby: doesn't matter how I put the goggles on, I can't see the status bar unless I pull the top back from my face about a half inch. That is not a good option of course. What I remembered though is that I have graves desease which causes my eye muscles to not always work correctly. I will...

DJI Goggles and the need to update firmware on the Mavic

Update: further along now. I've activated them and figured out how to watch some of the videos from this weekend (before i got the goggles), so well on my way. If I really found it necessary to nit-pick, I could say the image could be slightly sharper, but my standards must be lower because I...

DJI Goggles and the need to update firmware on the Mavic

Ok, it seems that it will not let me go any further without updating the firmware. I may be doing something wrong (no surprise there). I am making sure the battery is fully charged now and will look at it again when it's done.

DJI Goggles and the need to update firmware on the Mavic

I just received my DJI goggles and am trying to set them up. One of the first steps is to update the firmware on the Mavic. There has been a lot of discussion on this forum about the Mavic firmware that seems to not be good. I am not sure what is real and what is misunderstandings. Clearly...

    Tampa Bay Area Pilots

I understand not wanting to break the rules, but I am finding that I was probably too cautious. I am branching out and trying places that I thought I shouldn't fly (obvously not around airports or other places where I could be endangering people.) I figure that if I am not doing something...

    Hello from Tampa Bay, FL!

Welcome pic001. I have been dipping my toe into the water to see if there is any interest amoung Tampa Bay pilots to have a face-to-face meeting and see if we might want to loosely organize a bit to discuss issue relative this area (like places to fly). This might not go anywhere, but you...

    Tampa Bay Area Pilots

So far, four responders to this thread (Blades, Poggi747, and myself plus my neighbor, a phantom pilot). Probobly only Mavic pilots are seeing it. I am thinking there are more Tampa bay area pilots out there that face some of the same issues. I wonder if we spoke out more on this and other...

turning off object avoidance with Litchi

Well boy is my face red. Not sure why I couldn't find it when I needed it. Probobly in the heat of the moment, I was looking for "object" avoidance rather than "collision" avoidance. I sometimes have tunnel vision. I think a lot more practice is called for. Thanks.

turning off object avoidance with Litchi

Yep. It was dumb. I like to get long pans so was practicing, but unfortunately, I lost site of the Mavic just long enough to wind up in that tree. Good lesson, I guess in the end. Sport mode is a good suggestion, I didn't think of that. I respectively disagree with "no reason to fly...
