    DJI Mavic Fireworks settings

Tried yesterday to shot fireworks video with automatic setting except: Manual focus, WB Cloudy, -0.3EV, 2.7k/30Fps I'm not so satisfied because there is a king of noise all around the 4 sides (look 3rd picture extracted from the movie). I'll have to add the sound we recorded at ~2m from the...

    Switzerland and Canton Vaud

Hi, I'll probably be around Geneva/Lausanne between July/August (and for some fireworks) ! Rest of the time, I'm a student around Nice in the south of France. I'll let you know if I'll approach your location with the Mavic in a free day :)

Mavic - Battery life improvement & Internal Electronics

An other way I was thinking about is using an Arduino Leonardo (or Raspberry Pi) to overcome the problem of the voltage sensor in the Mavic. Just converting Li-Ion % to LiPo % by measuring voltage out of Li-Ion batteries and increasing it to make the Mavic think it's using the same voltage...

    Mavic Pilots - London

Hi Londoners ! Unfortunately I'm not in London anymore (was in EC1V between Angel and Old Street), but have you thought about the Olympic park to fly ? Lot of open space, nice buildings and flowering starting soon (april-may), with a nice weather coming. Perfect for great shots !

Mavic - Battery life improvement & Internal Electronics

Great news ! I found (coincidentally) someone on internet which is using Sony Li-Ion 18650 3000mAh batteries on Mavic Pro ! I'll post all the info I've found about it there later in the night. Just for thought, he is claiming obtaining 20min on a single 3S1P pack (but didn't know yet if there's...

Mavic - Battery life improvement & Internal Electronics

Unfortunately, trying to change a software parameter can be very difficult, so it'll be only the last option to consider. Maybe some tests have to be run first to know if the Mavic is stopping by using the lowest voltage on a single LiPo cell or the total amount of volts still in the battery...

Mavic - Battery life improvement & Internal Electronics

Yes you are true about aving more batteries = more cumulated flight time, but this isn't only about having more of these. It is about having the opportunity to improve existing and having fun with electronic and computer science, which is my motivation behind this. Even if I'll try and finish by...

Mavic - Battery life improvement & Internal Electronics

After looking at NCR18650B charts, at 2C and with 15% remaining battery (2800mAh ot of an average of 3300mAh), we are around 2.9v. About cell cycles, they tested them with a 400mAh drop after 500cycles at 1C, I think it can be worse by constantly using them at 2C. So it's around 1mAh/charge...

Mavic - Battery life improvement & Internal Electronics

Thank you FredzMaxxUAV, I forgot about the cut-off / voltage drop between LiPo and Li-Ion, I don't know if it is something we can work on, with software/parameters modifications. What happen after reaching 10%, auto-landing ? Can you override ? Is there a voltage indication on the remote or...

Mavic - Battery life improvement & Internal Electronics

Ok, so it's possible to go beyond 2C and still fly, I wasn't sure about that. Maybe the cut you had (when it fell) was because of a direct voltage drop due by an overdraw of current. Did you have some capacity drops by using these batteries over limitation constantly ? And how did the capacity...

Mavic - Battery life improvement & Internal Electronics

Yes, my first though was also to use Panasonic NCR18650B, but as you said there are rated for a max between 1.5 and 2C (which means between 10 and 15Amps). It's why I proposed different NCR18650PF which are supporting much more current draw, up to 4C (which means 20A for a 3S2P), but with a...

Do you think the Mavic is powerful enough to cut a finger?

If you want a picture of a damaged finger by a Mavic, there's one: Warning, there is some blood, but a minor cut. First LINK Second LINK

They'll be no way to send it back, the battery case/housing will be destroyed/modified. It is not so different than owner who add mods for spare batteries on the sides.
