@Pedro is this a JPG straight from the camera? or was this taken as a raw DNG and then converted to JPG for uploading here?
I've never got my JPG's to look good, which I don't really care about since I shoot raw DNG, and those always look good. So definitely the issues for me are coming up when...
I also shoot 3840x2160 and have tried 0,0,0 and -1,-1,-1 or 0,-1,-1 though I shoot at 24fps so obviously not specific to a certain framerate. Almost always ND4 or ND8.
Good to know at least shooting with less ND and a higher shutter speed will yield better results until some other solution is found.
@2nd2non Awesome, congrats on a sharp Mavic! The +1 sharpening looks pretty ugly to my eye but I'm glad to see that -2 sharpening doesn't create totally mushy footage. And yes please try with ND filters and lower shutter speed and let us know if you have any problems with that! Also will be...
I installed the new firmware this morning, and updated to the new Go 4 App that was also released today. Then went out for a flight. I reset the camera before flying. I still got watercolor! So no total fix in this firmware version, at least on my Mavic.
@JPMavic I also have been shooting with...
JPMavic, when you say reset the camera, which reset are you talking about in particular? the "Reset Camera Settings" under the gear icon within the the main camera settings page. Or something else?
I might try this. I remember seeing Mavic footage in the late Fall of all the people who first got Mavics and don't remember seeing this bad of a watercolor issue. Sure a few people had mushy footage but often that was from bad focus or trying to go too far with turning sharpening down. So those...
JPMavic,
Have you found that on a specific previous firmware version you don't get the watercolor problem at all?
I've used Go 4 and Litchi, and both apps have given me watercolor effect.
Just got my Mavic a few days ago and I'm having the water color painting effect as well...disappointed. Super obvious in JPG, but in raw DNG it looks great. I shoot raw anyway, but 4K video also looks like I'm getting way too much noise reduction. I've tried shooting only at -1 and 0 sharpness...
Fonejacker,
Did you find a solution? My JPG's also look like a fine oil pointing. I shoot in the raw DNG anyway so that's not a big issue, and the DNG files look great. My video (shooting in 4K at 24fps) looks somewhere in between as far as quality goes. Can't seem to get it sharp, but I also...
