Not to be a pest, but any chance you have one more of those? :-) Thanks!

    Part 107

Absolutely - there's about a thousand different paths we all take to get to where we are... some (like me!) need more help than others. But I just wanted to point out there's a huge difference between "teach to the test" quick courses and actual in-depth knowledge. We all have a shared...

    Part 107

There's a pretty big difference, IMO, between "pass the test" and "actually learning something" classes. Teaching to the test is one thing - if all you care about is the piece of paper, I suppose this is fine. But I can say - I took the Pilot Institute class and found it worth every single...

FAA withdraws DJI Mavic Pro Platinum RID compliance

I feel your pain and understand exactly what you mean ... my home is less than 2.5 miles from the runway at Morristown airport (MMU). So my home teeters between a 200' and a ZAQ. Before my 107 I could only authorize the 200' quadrant which meant I could take off and head north but not south...

FAA withdraws DJI Mavic Pro Platinum RID compliance

Thank you - really, really interesting that editing the record and adding the RID module S/N would remove the aircraft S/N on the Part 107 dashboard. As if the aircraft SN doesn't matter anymore...? Can't imagine they wouldn't want both. This whole process seems pretty poorly though out IMO...

FAA withdraws DJI Mavic Pro Platinum RID compliance

Thanks for the reminder - forgot it was over the 249g limit. Has been a long time since it's been out. It's my son's -- I'll see what he wants to do with it. We can get a RID module for it, but given that he also has the Mini 2 at his disposal, not sure it'll see any action anymore. Really...

FAA withdraws DJI Mavic Pro Platinum RID compliance

What a pain in the backside. I’ve got my 107 but fly almost exclusively recreationally. But in the off chance I use a bird for commercial purposes, I’d have to de-register and re-register, incurring the $5 fee I’m sure. I do mark each bird with my 107 registration number rather than my...

FAA withdraws DJI Mavic Pro Platinum RID compliance

I love the idea of moving the module from bird to bird, but how does that play with the FAA? I thought their requirements were a unique module/id per bird?

    C’mon case makers!

I modified my Nanuk 925 Mavic 3 case to fit the Mavic 3 Pro. Just had to trim a little from where the upper motors sit when folded... fits great.

When did you order? When did you receive?

Everything fit really well except where the upper motors sit. Just had to carve a little extra room for them, and all was well. If you're using the Nanuk Mavic 3 case, the filter kit in the Fly More pack doesn't fit where the prior one did, but it works out because I can put the 100W charger...

When did you order? When did you receive?

Arrived yesterday from B&H. A small trim in my Nanuk 925 case foam from the Mavic 3, and she fits snug as a bug in a rug. Beyond pleased with the image quality thus far from all 3 cameras. Really liking the 3x (70mm equiv) lens -- great sweet spot.

Mavic 3 Pro : Maybe not the same build quality ?

Mine is on order with B&H Photo... They are showing shipping "beginning" May 9th. Good news is usually I'm either same-day or next-day from B&H, so hoping to have it midweek next week.

Mavic Pro or Mavic Air 2?

Hey Mark! If it’s truly in the condition described, I’d say you’d be very happy with that drone. Very, very happy indeed. Incredibly capable, fun to fly - you’d love it. It’s a few hundred dollars cheaper than the Air 2, so that’s a positive as well. My opinion (which is worth what you...

Mavic Pro or Mavic Air 2?

Of course ... my point though is that the Air 2 isn’t better in every way. There’s still things the MP does better. Plenty the Air 2 does better also; it’s not a clear cut answer. That’s all. And I doubt I’ll ever see compatibility with my DJI Goggles (original) or FT Aviator for the Air 2...
