Good decision. The Mavic is much easier to fly than the P series and takes up 1/3 the space and cheaper batteries.
Chances are much better that you'll have absolutely no issues with firmware.
If I may suggest, get the DJI care and fly it with peace of mind. It takes a little bit of the terror...
Yes, but it only costs $100 more to be cooler. With some folks it's a star bellied sneech kind of thing.
DJI will sell more Mavics now than they would have if they hadn't released it. I'm sure they did their market research, DJI is pretty good at making money.
No different from any DJI consumer grade drone. Land the P2 too hard and it's a $300 gimbal fiasco. Look at the gimbal sideways and you will rip a ribbon cable.
One risk you'll need to look out for is food poisoning. E. Coli is a ***** when you are trying to fly.
I suggest staying off the nasty cruise lines or floating prisons.
It's worth it to be able to fly that thing like
It's stolen
A raped ape
It's insured.
It gives Peace of Mind and yes, I am going to the Boston concert in less than a month. No drone zone for me but it would be cool!
