Lithium ion battery's can and do burn. My house burned down 2 years ago from a failed lithium battery. The unit was not a drone battery rather a prototype motorcycle. I am redoing the build but using lipofe4 batteries as they do not burn. I know of another home nearby that burned due to a weed...
I have these and what's nice is you just leave them on as they don't interfere with fitting in the case
On Amazon - Amazon.com: Mavic Mini 2 Landing Gear, Foldable Extended Landing Leg with Propeller Holder for DJI Mini 2 / Mavic Mini Accessories : Toys & Games
I just hand land or grab I almost never do the pad or on the ground. Here is a trick however - Bring the drone down to shoulder level facing away from you then quickly slide your hand under the drone, this disables the down sensors so just stick down and easy peasy.
This is good - sort of.
It's bad that someone gets fined $15k for doing a dumb thing but good in the sense I have been selected to give a talk to our local Rotary Club on drones. Part of it will be on laws related to not only flyers but idiots who shoot down drones and the related jail terms...

Personally I would say no. I am in general a poor test taker but 3 years ago I downloaded 100 test questions from the FAA website and studied the night before testing then passed with flying carpets. Last year I had to renew and did the same with no issues. I would say most people can simply...
I have the tripltek which is great however it's very heavy so I only use it on my Mavic zoom for commercial work. On all others I use my 5 inch crystal sky which works with all my DJI drones with litchi. The fly app will not load on this older unit but litchi is better anyway.
