Who flies beyond line of sight?

I feel this is all a bit silly when I'm more concerned about where I'm going than line of sight. This means I'm glued to my iPad, often look up and find I can't always see it for a tree or even the sun. I've had morning mist turn into a thick fog too really fast but brought it back using the...

    Modes disappeared

Went out yesterday to find the icon for modes wasn't present. Thought maybe I'd got it accidentally in sport mode but proved not to be that. Anyone know what else to check. Thanks.

Mavic Pro or Mavic air for my situation, just can't decide!!

I walk miles with my pro in a Lowepro droneguard BP 200 rucksack, and there's a bigger version, the 250 and if you want quiet, get the platinum. In terms of bulk and even weight, there's not going to be an enormous difference, I use the BP 200 so as to limit what I can carry.

Orthophoto/Photomapping help (Relatively new drone owner)

There is an app called count helper, helps you count objects in a photo. Never used it, just noticed it the other day, found it again. Might be of use to you?

    yaw sensitivity

Ian in London has a great video on this on YT. It's titled camera settings but covers control settings too.

My run-in with a security guard! (And other happy stories)

I'm the same - I've largely switched off to the ferociously negative, SJW obsessed news - I occasionally glance at it and just think, same@@@p, different day. I've switched off before because some make me feel like throwing rotten tomatoes at the TV lol. As for encounters, all mine so far have...

    Liability insurance Netherlands

No, you can get PLI as a recreational user. I use photoguard with PLI up to a million.

    Hi from Switzerland

Yes, when you can afford another and you gain confidence from experience. A lot of people are very apprehensive, so was I, still am occasionally.

    Noob from the uk

Looks OK. I'm in Northampton, slowly getting footage of Kenilworth Castle. Loads of places. I use View Ranger app to find public footpaths and fly from there. Maybe meet up one day, I need to do Kenilworth at sunset now.

    Hello from the UK

It's probably not just about filters. Tom's Tech Time YT channel has a pretty good video on camera settings and a great one on drone camera techniques.

This crap is why laws are being passed against drones

Mind you on FB I saw another post, a newbie who decided to hide and fly his new Mavic Pro at a friend, thinking the technology would stop it from hitting the guy, only he was in sports mode. Fortunately the target saw it coming and ducked but if he hadn't, it could have done hin serious injury...

    Privacy and Legality

So long as its not on private property you'll be fine. You can be done for filming activity in people's gardens, houses, private businesses but not for activity in the public domain. This means if you film a couple in a garden and upload it and it turns out that you've exposed an affair, then...

    4k computer advice needed

OK, he's been ill but come back to me with these specs, which are as always for me, might as well be written in Clingon - price wise they're pretty similar so I'm just wondering if this will more than do - I plan to edit largely 4k, and I'm inclined towards an ultra wide monitor like this...
