Nice whale shot. I worked on the DP fishing boats as a kid in the 80's. Lots to see out there. If I only had a Drone back then.

It may not be the "smartest " in your opinion but it works best for my situation. I have hand grabbed before but try to avoid it. I have seen some of the gashes on people's hands posted on here, and some required stitches after a prop gash and I am often a day away from a hospital when on the ocean.

It is dicey, but worth the risk for the footage I have captured offshore. Heading to some offshore islands in 2 weeks to get more.

I send mine out over the ocean all the time. The previously noted precautions are good to follow. Landing it on the boat has been dicey. Between the SS railings (mag interference) and the boat moving around, I almost sent mine to the bottom of the ocean last week. The water was 2K ft. deep, so...
