    Using iPad mini

This seems like a pretty good time to buy one, at least if you're in the U.S. I ordered an iPad Mini 4 from Best Buy, which currently has a pretty good sale on them, and other places may also. Now if I can just get the Mavic to go with it I'll be all set.

    Advexure - Mavic Pro

I came across a guy over the weekend who said he got his Mavic off eBay, but rather than paying cash he was able to work out a trade with the seller (not sure how that worked out for eBay). He had the "fly less" package and I believe he said that what he traded was worth $1200 or maybe $1400, so...

    Benefits of Litchi

Yes, and that's true even with the DJI Care Refresh program; if you don't recover it or it ends up in the water they won't cover any repairs.

    Benefits of Litchi

It's a bit more complicated than that, but just using the app doesn't void your warranty. Apparently if your quad crashes while you're using Litchi, DJI is less likely to be able to determine that the crash was due to something covered by the warranty, and if they can't make that determination...

    Near miss with pylon

Good point. Watching the video again after reading your post I realized that while the tower is easily visible from a distance, the power lines weren't obvious until it was almost too late to do anything about them, at least at that speed.

    ipad mini 4

Here's some information from another thread that I believe has the information you're looking for. The short answer is yes, you can use the wifi-only version:

For those new to the Hobby, and important way NOT to lose your drone

Yes, it should. Just the same, though, once I get my Mavic I plan to keep the RTH altitude well above any obstacle it might encounter on the way back; I'd prefer to let someone else figure out how reliable obstacle avoidance really is. ;) Thanks for the video link, though; that's encouraging.

    How high can I fly?

400 feet in the U.S. Not sure about Canada.

    Using iPad mini

Using a cell phone as a personal hotspot is a great idea, but it may be unavailable, limited, or cost you extra money depending on the terms of your cell phone plan. For example, it's included for "free" as part of the T-Mobile plan I currently have, but it wasn't included in the plan I...

    2nd generation DJI Magic Pro?

Yep, I saw that one, but it doesn't seem to be a common / widespread problem. The only thing I've seen to date that concerned me a little is the disconnection problem discussed here, but so far at least, it seems to be limited to a smallish number of Mavic owners.

    2nd generation DJI Magic Pro?

What sort of problems do you mean? Other than the inevitable one-off problems here and there, I haven't noticed any common complaints from current Mavic owners, so I'm interested if you've heard otherwise. In fact, one of the things that has me excited about the Mavic is that as best I can tell...

    Using iPad mini

Same here; I've considered snagging a Mini 2 from one of the places (Wal-Mart, etc.) expected to offer it for $200 on Black Friday, but the Mini 4's superior anti-reflective coating seems to make it a much better choice for outdoor use. Unfortunately, it's something of a moot point for me...
