I have had my mini for just a couple of months but have found that FPV is much easier to fly than trying to watch it. I flew RC planes and gliders and this is much easier using FPV. You do not need to try and figure which way to are going and figure out which way you need to work the controls...
I flew my mini after dark on July 3 to try getting some fireworks photos. Lift off was in a well lit parking lot. Flew about 1000' towards the fireworks with no problem. It flew great and got some decent photos but next year or time,I want to get closer, within a half mile.
I purchase a new case from Amazon which I love as it gives me more space and does not have the cross piece as in the flymore case. It is a high quality case with nice storage capacity. I no longer use the flymore case at all.
First, with all the issues with the fly more case, I purchased a new case which gives me more storage space. Next I purchased the inexpensive prop holders which work great. I have had no problems and have put the mini through the paces in sport mode and fast turns with no issues and still on...
Last time I flew my MM, I was just in sport mode and reached 30.4 mph which was the highest I have reached yet on my MM. Before it was always under 30 mph.
If you want to just temporary try something less expensive, for my MM, I use a Yagi 5.8 which I got from a guy that makes them in the US and sells them on eBay. It is eBay item # 153961889781. Excellent quality and it has made difference for me. I fly in the mountains with trees and ridges...
