So finally it was my turn... Lesson learned: never get cocky as a drone pilot.
So I was shooting video of a ferry, when I thought; heck, why not just fly the mavic between the car deck and the pilothouse? That would be a awesome shot! And it sure was...until the bird crashed right in two a...
The biggest fears I have where I live close to the water are seagulls and oystercatchers. Especially during the breeding season they tend to be very aggressive, swooping close to the mavic, and chasing it. Before I knew this was an issue, I flew a couple hundred meters away and had for half a...
I don´t think there is such a feature. However, as far as I remember, DJI changed the speed and distance restriction in P-mode when not logged in to the app. Unfortunately that´s the only tips I have, so if it didn´t help to log out and back in, I´m not sure what will help :o
Have you logged in to the DJI Go app? I had this issue, and It kind of solved itself after some tweaking within the app. I think the log in is what solved my issue.
Update if anyone else have similar issues:
I contacted DJI support and sent them the pictures of the batteries. They wanted me to send it back to their repair center for closer inspection. I ended up sending the entire bird because of a minor focus problem in the corner as well. I'll report...
I could ask DJI, but I wanted to check if anyone else have seen some changes on their batteries.
In the first image, it's the battery to the left that has the issue. If you look closely on the lower right side, you can see a small mark next to the power button.
However, I'm not sure if this is...
Hey there pilots!
I just noticed something strange with one of my batteries. I wouldn't say it looks swollen, but it has some...not really bumps, but kind of 3D-scratches. It's hard to see it visually, but I can feel it's not as smooth as my other battery when I drag my finger over the area...
Hey peepz!
I haven´t flown my mavic lately, and I think the 10-day limit for automatic discharge is upon my two batteries. I know the "proper way" to treat your batteries if you plan to not use them for a while, is to fly them to 20-30% or so. However, I like to have them fully charged, just in...
Zup peepz!
I shot some stills with the mavic pro the other day, and needed to crop them in post due to poor framing. If I were aware of the long distance between the subject and the quad when I shot the images, I could zoom in a little, but to my understanding, you loose the same amount of data...
7 hr flight time, no crashes but have changed 2 props due to the loose folding mechanism. I don´t know if it increases the chance of the propeller to fail in air, but I don´t trust the propellers once they become very "flappy" in the folding mechanism, so I just change them.
It seems like you need to fly in REALLY heavy winds to make the mavic crash or flip solely because of the wind. And look at what the warning message actually say: "fly with caution and ensure the aircraft remains in sight". It doesen´t tell us to land it right away, but tells us to fly with...
You´re absolutely right. However, since the feature is there, I think it´s worth discussing the safety of using it. And if you have a stuffed backback with a tiny space for just your drone, you might considering leaving the remote - a rare occasion, but still a possibility.
